Vacuuming With a Robot Hoover is the Best Hands-Off Model We've Tested
This top-quality bot from Eufy is the best hands-off model we've tested to date. It vacuums, mops, self-empties its bin, washes and dry mop pads with no intervention from you.
It doesn't feature advanced cleaning functions or a more powerful docking system, but it provides outstanding performance for less than half the cost of top-end robotic vacuums. It is compact in design and can reach under furniture.
Vacuuming
Vacuuming using a robot hoover is a simple, quick way to keep your floors looking and feeling clean. A majority of the robots featured that we recommend are designed to operate without your involvement, so you can schedule them to work while you're out or start cleaning sessions from your phone. But, you must choose a model that has superior navigation and obstacle detection to ensure it will not be stuck on the stairs or underneath furniture.
Some models are better at removing pet hairs from rugs than others, which is why it's crucial to select an item that is able to efficiently and effectively clean all flooring types. Look for a model with dust bins that is able to hold plenty of dirt between emptying and the nozzle doesn't lose suction as it rotates to get rid of debris.
Most robots require little to no maintenance, aside from cleaning the tangled fur off the rotating brush after each cleaning session (and wiping its sensors or camera as needed) and then periodically emptying the bin, or using a robot's self-emptying base. If you follow these easy steps to maintain your robot, the vacuum should last as long as full-size vacuums and keep your home cleaner for longer.
While robot mops are generally less versatile than vacuums, some have the added capability of absorbing spills and puddles while they're doing their thing. The iLife V3s Pro is an example of such a device, which is a good choice for people who have wood floors or a mix of carpets and rugs. It's quiet and has excellent navigation capabilities that have helped it avoid obstacles during testing, and the charging dock doubles as a trash can.
To get the best results, select an appliance that can do both vacuuming and mopping at the same time. Karcher's RCV 5 is able to do that, and has other features that are useful like a live camera, which sends a blurry image to your app, so that you can monitor your pet or kids and a remote control that is easily programable. Its navigation isn't as reliable as the other models in our collection however it is able to lift its own thresholds to a certain level and has an ample 500ml dustbin that doesn't have to be emptied often.
Mopping
Robots that mop and vacuum are a relatively new addition to the market. They are more expensive than standalone robots and require a separate water tank, however, the additional cost could be worth it for a lot of people, particularly those who have difficult-to-clean stains or lots of pets.
The best robots can clean floors and carpets as well as vacuum. Several brands now offer all-in-one robotics that perform both tasks with ease. The Combo J9+ is among the most effective mopping robots that we have tested. It uses docks that can hold up to 60 days' worth of dirt. This is a significant improvement over the Qrevo Pro which ran out water after only mopping 30 days worth of dirt during our tests.
The Tapo RV30 Plus from networking giant TP Link is a fantastic two-in-one. It's quiet, compact, and has a clean, fuss-free appearance. In our test rooms, it cleaned the floors thoroughly and precisely - it was particularly good on rugs, but it required several runs to completely clean some areas of soiled wood. Its LIDAR navigation is very effective, too. It is able to avoid hitting furniture or running over power cables.
It's a little slow on the stairs however, that's to be expected from a compact robot designed to tackle obstacles. The only issue is its mopping pad attachment, that was difficult to use and wouldn't stay in place during our tests. It also lacks the ability of handling dust that has dried, making it more like the vacuum rather than a mop.
It's still a great choice for people who prefer a hands-off experience and want to clean low pile or plain carpets equally. It offers a decent amount of suction, which allowed it to pick up fine dust and pet hair from carpets. Automatic recognition of carpets is a fantastic feature as it increases the power of vacuuming to take on dirt that is embedded. It's also simple to use and has a handy charging dock that automatically empties the bin once it's full, which is a real boon for those who live in flats.
self vacuum apps
Most robot vacuums, mop, and sweeper comes with an app that lets you customize cleaning routines, choose rooms to clean, plan cleaning sessions, and alter settings such as suction, water level and scrubbing power. Some robots also offer intelligent dirt detection, which utilizes past cleaning data and map data to identify areas that are dirty and optimize cleaning mode.
Having an app also allows you to create virtual barriers and no-go zones to keep your robot away from potentially hazardous items like cords, pet water bowls, and sharp objects. Some models let you create these virtual barriers with laser navigation sensors, while others come with small physical barriers or boundary strips to place wherever you'd like to block off your floor area.
There are still risks to be aware of, even though the most effective robot vacuums are able to detect and maneuver around obstacles. For instance, a robot's main brush could get stuck on long curtains or cords and stop the machine from running. You can prevent this from happening by clearing the area of any cords and tie up any long curtains before running your robot.
Certain robots automatically update the software that governs their navigation and obstacle avoidance algorithms which improves performance and reduces wear and wear on the robot's internal components. It's a good idea regularly to check the site of the manufacturer or your robot app for updates to firmware.

If you live in a huge house, choose one that comes with different cleaning modes. The iRobot Roomba 11S Max can sweep and vacuum hard and carpeted floors with different suction settings. It can also automatically change to the highest power setting for carpets and increase its scrubbing power by using SmartScrub.
If you're looking to remain hands-off, a robot with an assistant that can be activated by voice is a fantastic option. The iRobot Roomba 980 can be controlled by Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant. It has a small, self-emptying docking station and a powerful cleaning engine that leaves your floors sparkling.
